Currently, Rev. Judith Alltree and Rev. David Julien are jointly serving as Interim Ministers.
Rev. Judith Alltree
We’re delighted to welcome Judith back to Redeemer. Judith was a generous shepherd to our congregation during two maternity leaves. She will continue her role as Executive Director of the Mission to Seafarers (Southern Ontario), an organization she has worked with for five years. Before that, she was Incumbent (Pastor) at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Mississauga. While in theology school, Judith co-founded Wine Before Breakfast, a community sharing mid-week worship, which continues today.
Before receiving her Master’s in Divinity at Wycliffe College, Judith worked for many years in the travel industry and still loves travelling. Then she founded her own arts management company, organizing tours for musicians from around the world.
Judith has been one of Redeemer’s representatives in the West End Interfaith Refugee (WEIR) Committee, helping to settle a refugee couple from Iran and family from Syria here in Toronto.
Rev. David Julien
Pastor Judith introduces David:
What can I tell you about my friend Pastor David Julien (pronounced jul-EEN)? We have known each other since 1987 when we founded a company together called NovaTer Artists. NovaTer is a play on the word "innovator" and "New World", and both applied to David, his personality, his drive, his vision and imagination. We worked together for 12 years with performers from around the world before we set us off on a new path, which took us both to Wycliffe College and ordination in the Anglican Church.
Pastor David has served congregations all around the diocese, most recently in Scarborough at a congregation largely of South Asian Tamils! He is a gifted musician, (singer, composer, conductor and a multi-instrumentalist); father of three and grandfather of nine (aged 11 months to 22 years); was born and raised in the mountains of Northern California but chose Canada as his home; and his favourite thing is his BRT, or as we know it, the Big Red Truck! He is compassionate, kind, deeply empathetic, pastoral, energetic, full of imagination, and has never backed away from any challenge! I am thrilled he is willing to assist me this summer at Redeemer and I hope you will enjoy getting to know him over the next few months.
